Fort Pierce to Key West.

Well we stayed with Aunt Alice in Fort Pierce. The inflatable mattress worked out well again and everyone had a good sleep on the den floor. The Fort Pierce area has a lot of foreclosures going on while its close to Orlando and Disney I think that the Gulf coast is better. But that's just a personal preference.

We then moved on to Miami and stayed with my Niece Trisha who is getting her PHD in Astro Physics at the FIU campus. We spent time touring the campus, chatting and walking everywhere. We did go to little Havana for lunch when we got in and I had a nice Cuban sandwich with a beer while Boo sat under my chair getting his bits of Pork here and there. The restaurant had an out side eating area and we have found that restaurants don't mind dogs that mind their P's and Q's sitting out there. So all is good.

Sorry we don't have any pics but .... this happens when we are having too much fun.

So then that night we camped out on Trisha's living room floor on the air mattress and got in a good nights sleep . Up in the morning and off to Key West.

Every time we went over a bridge to the next Key I kept thinking of the movie "True Lies" and the bridge getting blown up. I keep thinking that they did that with computer generated graphics but the bit with Jamie Lee Curtis in the run away limo, where the limo goes into the water stumped me until I noticed that there was the old bridge that was next to the new one. AH they used the old one for that bit. Seems that the took the old bridge out of commission by taking out sections of the bridge thus leaving large gaps for the limo to fall through.

Old style watering hole

You just can't beat the houses in Key West

Found this on an old building off the beaten path

It was so hot that Boo couldn't walk anymore with his black fur coat and the hot sun. He needed a lift!

Another great house

Heading back to Marathon to a Holiday Inn that will let Boo stay with us.
More tomorrow!
