Well Savanna was interesting. We left Charleston and make good time to Savanna and could not believe all the traffic and craziness going on there. So we checked into the Holiday Inn Express there and asked what the heck was going on?
Checking in with a ton of junk. Most of it is Boo's stuff. Sheesh. Guess who runs the roost?
Well you will not find any other pictures from Savanna. It seems that Savanna has the 2nd largest St. Patricks party in the US. It was insane there. Open container laws were suspended and the water front was filled with drunks, street people, and impromptu entertainers standing on up turned 5 gallon plastic pails singing or playing instruments. There was at least one cop per 10 people. We had Boo there but we had to get out of there since no one could see him and he was getting close to being stepped on every three feet so we found a nice restaurant that still had outside seating out and sat down for some nosh. We found out that all the restaurants had taken all their outside tables and chairs in since the St. Patricks day bash was utter mayhem and people would steal the chairs and tables right out from under their noses.
Our waiter was a native and he did not want to even come into work the next day since it was so nut-so. He told us to not come back the next day and just move on and try to visit another time. So after some really nice wine and local beer, fired green tomatoes ... off we when back to the hotel and a drive down to Jacksonville Florida.
This is how we roll with Boo the Prince. |
